November 6, 2015 - Nathan Aweau Debuts songs from his latest album in Benefit Concert in San Francis

San Francisco (October 2015) - Singer–songwriter and multi-award Na Hoku Hanohano winner, Nathan Aweau premiers songs from his latest CD, Aina Hanau, on November 9, 2015, 7:30 pm, at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) in San Francisco. As a benefit for the Center, proceeds go toward the vitality of over 80 ongoing programs and the continued service provided by JCCCNC for communities of all ages. With much anticipation since winning the Album of the Year and song of the Year for his last CD in 2013, this will be Nathan’s seventh solo CD release due out later this year.

Nathan Aweau’s vocals and original compositions unite the cultural traditions and contemporary sounds of his Hawaiian upbringing. Nathan Aweau’s extensive 27 year career includes a seven year stint with the group HAPA, 15 years as Don Ho’s bassist and music director, ten Na Hoku Hanohano Awards which includes ‘Entertainer of the Year’, ‘Contemporary Album of the Year’, ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ and three-times ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’. In 2013, his most recent CD ‘Io’ won both Album of the Year and Song of the Year for ‘Uhiwai’, a song he wrote for his parent’s anniversary that is now becoming now a contemporary Hula Standard in Japan and the US. Touring ten months out of the year, Nathan Aweau shares his love of his island home and culture with many around the world, including Japan, China and around the US. Many Northern California Hawaiian Music goers may have seen him at Yoshi’s Jazz, Oakland, CA, Freight and Salvage, Berkeley, CA, Villa Montalvo, Saratoga, CA, Thunder Valley Casino and Resorts near Sacramento, CA, Don Quioxte’s Music Hall in Felton, CA and the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

Show time is November 6, 2015 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:45pm. VIP Pre-show Meet and Greet starts at 6:30pm.
